Q1: What kind of skimmer can I use on the 65 gallon aqaurium?
A: For this aquarium, the 17 inch Venturi Skimmer (AAT015) is recommended. This item is designed to fit directly into the rear compartment of the Uniquarium. Because it is internal, the tank can be installed very close to the wall. Also, you won't have to worry about leaking, etc.
Q2: Customer bought this aquarium and when food is dropped into the tank the water coming out of the filter jets on one side of the tank pushes all the food directly to the filter intake clogging the filter. The customer would like to know what he can do to prevent this. Thanks.
A: What you are experiencing is fairly normal with any aquarium with an overflow at the surface. The best way to help avoid this is to introduce the food below the water surface as opposed to sprinkling it on top. This will cause it to sink slightly and not go directly to the filter. Also, many customers shut the pump off during feeding.
Q3: I am interested in the 75 gallon 75-Gal (48W x 15D x 24H in.) tank. But the picture is of a saltwater system and I can't tell if part of that 15 inches front to back is taken up by the filter system (leaving only about 12? inches front to back for the fish). Can you clarify?
A: The filtration takes up about 4.5" in the rear, leaving 10.5" in the front compartment for the fish.
